Valve Application Demonstrator
The Darby-SimPlant Valve Application Demonstrator (VAD) is a hands-on skills demonstrator utilizing 1-inch – 2-inch valve cutaways of the ten most common types of valves used in the manufacturing industry.
The DS 1370 VAD is designed to support our DS 1360 Hands-on Process Operator Skills Trainer (HPOST) and our Muli-level Separator Process Operator Skills Trainer (MSPOST).
Valves include:
Angle, Ball, Butterfly, Check, Jerguson, Gate, Globe, Needle, Plug and Relief.
The Valve Application Demonstrator is provided with a 1-inch stainless tube to connect the valves, flanges, and gaskets so that each valve spool section can be removed, inspected, and installed providing a hands-on learning experience. Some of the valves can be further disassembled and reassembled.

In addition to practical hand tool skills development, the Valve Application Demonstrator is ideally suited for task-based timed activities. The Valve Application Demonstrator can be provided in 2 standard configurations. The standard configuration incorporates a mixture of 1-inch and 1.5-inch cutaway valves. Dimensions 28 inches wide (700mm), 60 inches long (1.52m), 66 inches high (1.68m). Weight 400lbs (180kg).
As well as a mixture of 1 and 1.5 inches. Weight 530lbs (240kg).
This unit may need 2 students to work together when removing the larger 2-inch cutaway valves.
The demonstrator is fixed to a lightweight aluminum frame, on lockable heavy-duty castors for ease of transport between classrooms.
